Our Approach to Kids Nutrition

We help children explore new foods, expand their palates, and build lifelong healthy habits through mindful eating, age-level plant-forward nutrition education, and simple cooking skills.

Every class blends tasting, learning, and fun — no pressure, no stress, just joyful discovery.

what to expect in our classes

explore new flavors

Build curiosity by tasting and exploring a variety of plant-based foods including vegetables, fruits, grains, herbs, and spices.

Build Kitchen Skills

Practice safe chopping, mixing, blending, measuring, and plating. Building that sous-chef confidence!

nutrition made simple

Learn how real food fuels their bodies, why nutrients matter, and how to recognize hunger and fullness cues for more mindful eating. We make nutrition easy to understand and fun to explore.

grow their palate

Learn to taste new foods using their five senses and describe what they notice (“crunchy,” “bright,” “earthy”) instead of saying “yuck,” helping them build confidence with unfamiliar flavors.

Our approach is evidence-based and rooted in real-life experience. We’ve used these same gentle strategies with our own children to help them try new foods, expand their palates, and enjoy real, nourishing meals. We know that even the pickiest eaters can grow more confident with the right tools, language, and encouragement—and we’re here to guide your family every step of the way.

frequently asked questions

01

What if my child is picky?

That’s exactly what we’re here to work on! Our classes are designed to help kids gently explore new foods, use positive food language, and build confidence one bite at a time. We encourage curiosity, fun, and mindful tasting.

02

What ages can join?

Our 12-week homeschool series is designed for grades K–5. Many of our monthly workshops and drop-in classes will be designed for older kids as well, and each event will clearly list the recommended ages.

03

What if my child has food allergies?

Please let us know before class so we can prepare safely.

Some of the facilities we teach in are nut-free, and we always plan tastings with safety in mind. Let us know your child’s allergies when you sign up, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

04

Do parents stay during class?

Yes! Our classes are caregiver-and-me, so parents stay and participate alongside their child. A common theme we see is that many parents were never taught how to nourish themselves with real, whole foods — so it can feel overwhelming to know how to feed their kids nutritiously.

In class, you’ll learn right alongside your child, building skills, confidence, and healthy habits together.

05

What do they need to bring?

Just an empty stomach and an open mind!

As they will learn in class, hunger is the first step to enjoying a meal, so please avoid giving snacks within 1–2 hours of class or workshops when food is provided. We’ll take care of the rest!
